The village of Nyack, New York, invites you to celebrate the holiday season Nyack-style, with “Art & Soul on the Hudson.”
From Thanksgiving through New Years Day, Nyack is filled with the sights and sounds of the holiday season, with glittering lights and artist-decorated shop windows, plus eclectic stores and restaurants, and the best nightlife in Rockland County.
Special shopping events include Small Business Saturday on November 28, and Nyack’s 2nd annual Indoor Street Fair on November 29. The annual tree lighting celebration, Holiday Lights of Nyack, takes place on December 5. Throughout the month of December, many of Nyack’s shops will be open extended hours, with holiday specials and in-store events.
The artists of the Nyack Art Collective have made the streets come alive with window installations in select shops, including Sanctuary (South Broadway) and Riverwaves (North Broadway). Spend an afternoon at the Edward Hopper House Art Center; and lift your spirits with the sounds of the New York Philharmonic Brass Principal Quartet or join GraceMusic’s annual Messiah Sing. Parking will be FREE every weekend (including the day after Thanksgiving) in Nyack’s municipal parking lots from Thanksgiving through December 20. Street parking meters will still be in effect. Signs throughout the village will direct visitors to parking lots.
